During Collin & Nikki’s wedding ceremony, the priest asked people to describe Nikki & Collin’s relationship in one word. If I could describe them in just one word, I would say giggly!
These two, are absolute naturals in front of the camera. They are so relaxed around each other, and anytime they look at each other they just burst out laughing, or giggling, or snuggling. Any of which make amazing pictures! Even though I had to remind Collin a couple times throughout the day that it wasn’t his real smile, all I really had to do was have him look at Nikki, and his eyes would light up & he would be smiling from ear to ear!
Nikki & Collin’s day started out with the girls getting their finishing touches done at the hotel, then heading to St. Mary’s Church, where Nikki got into her dress & then they had their 1st look. It was so sweet Nikki wrote Collin a poem/letter that she gave him when they saw each other. Then, Nikki chose to have a 1st look moment with her father, I love her face on the photo when he is walking up to her– you can definitely tell she is daddy’s little girl!
Now I know I’ve let all of you know before how much I enjoy photographing here not only because there is always a very helpful wedding coordinator, but because of how beautiful the architecture of the church is. For Nikki & Collin’s day, we got to use a whole new spot that we haven’t photographed in before– outside by this beautiful birch tree! The lighting was amazing, it was perfect for all their bride & groom photos & bridal party photos!
After the ceremony, the bridal party went to Zorbaz for additional photos by the water (well, and of course some drinks!) And then we headed back to the Willmar Conference Center. Once again, the decor looked amazing, and Jay had a lot of fun photographing all the detail shots!
One thing that I want to point out about Nikki & Collin’s reception, notice their speech photos. The videographer (Mike from Storyteller Videography who did an amazing job, I might add) & I coordinated to have the speeches on the dance floor. The lighting was much better & then Mike could get clear audio since they used a mic stand. I love how the photos turned out, because not only is the rest of the bridal party in the background, but we got such great photos of the person speaking along with Nikki & Collin’s reactions! Maybe thats something I could try to have more couples do in the future….!?!
Anyways, enough of me rambling on, these two are definitely going to have a hard time deciding on which photos to put in their wedding album, we got so many great shots from the day– take a look!
